The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office utilizes civilian volunteers whenever possible. Volunteers generally donate a few hours each week. Their involvement is valued by the agency and really makes a difference!
Assignments vary based on availability and the assessed interests and experience of the volunteers. Currently, agency volunteers assist with gun cleaning, records, fingerprinting, parking enforcement, misdemeanor case review, Explorers, jail classification, staffing substations, etc. Volunteers receive training appropiate to the duties they are to perform.
