Fort Pierce Police Department, Port St. Lucie Police Department and St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office investigate three bank robberies between 9 and 9:30 this morning
 
The Fort Pierce Police Department, Port St. Lucie Police Department and St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office are working together to investigate three bank robberies that took place between 9 and 9:30 this morning.

At 9:08 a.m. the Fort Pierce Police Department responded to Sun Trust Bank, 700 Virginia Ave., Fort Pierce, where the bank was robbed. One robber entered the bank and got away with money.

At 9:14 a.m. a bank robbery was reported to the Port St. Lucie Police Department at the PNC Bank at 5493 N.E. St. James Drive. Two armed men went inside, and one stayed outside. The robbers took some money and fled. At the Oxbow Center on St. James Drive near the bank, St. Lucie County Sheriff's deputies apprehended one of the suspected robbers. The other two suspects were not located.

At 9:30 a.m. the Fort Pierce Police Department was notified of a second bank robbery in the city, to the PNC Bank at 4156 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce. Three armed men entered the bank and got away with money.

At 9:57 a.m., at S.W. Aster Road and Alton Circle, Port St. Lucie, St. Lucie County Sheriff's deputies, Fort PIerce police and Port St. Lucie police stopped a white Chrysler sedan with four people inside. Shots were fired but no one was injured. The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting activity.
