At a 10 a.m., May 13 ceremony, St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara and the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office will recognize the sacrifices made by six deputies, including two Sheriffs, who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The ceremony will take place at 4700 West Midway Road, Fort Pierce, the administrative office of the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office. (http://goo.gl/maps/lKxb7

"From Sheriff Daniel S. Carlton, who made the ultimate sacrifice in May 1915, to Sgt. Gary Morales, who died Feb. 28 in service to the people of our county, we honor all those who lost their lives protecting our county's people," Sheriff Mascara said. "All emergency services officers can face danger every day they put on the uniform. The observance of Law Enforcement Memorial Week reminds us all of this sobering fact."

At the ceremony St. Lucie County Commission Chairman Tod Mowery will present the Board of County Commissioners' proclamation for Law Enforcement Memorial Week.

St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office Chaplain David Thompson will preside at the ceremony.
