St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara asks for public's help to find missing/endangered adult Joseph Ryan
St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara is asking for the public's help to find a missing and endangered 73-year-old Alzheimer's sufferer.
"Joseph Ryan, who is a black male 5 feet 7 inches tall weighing about 170 pounds, left on foot from 1909 Royal Palm Drive in the Orange Blossom Estates neighborhood of St. Lucie County about 2:30 this afternoon," Sheriff Mascara said. "We have been looking for him since his family reported him missing 10 minutes later."
Orange Blossom Estates is near the intersection of 25th Street and Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce.
Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 in St. Lucie County.
Mr. Ryan has grey hair and brown eyes and took his medications this morning. His next dose should take place at 9 p.m. He was last seen wearing a black and white checkered shirt, black jacket and a black and white Fedora-type hat. He may be carrying a red shoe box containing black dress shoes.
He has left home before and has been located at convenience stores in the general area of his neighborhood. He likes to eat Snickers candy bars. Complicating the search is the fact that he hides when he sees members of law enforcement.
