St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office charges Texas rape fugitive Jacob Daniel West with lewd and lascivious behavior and grand theft of a firearm, according to Sheriff Mascara
The Texas rape fugitive captured Monday in Fort Pierce by St. Lucie County Sheriff's deputies and FBI agents now faces two St. Lucie County charges, according to Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
"Late Tuesday afternoon, the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office charged Jacob Daniel West, 33 (DOB 7/22/79) with lewd and lascivious behavior to a victim between 12 and 16 years old," Sheriff Mascara said. "We also charged him with grand theft of a firearm."
The charges resulted from two interviews by Sheriff's detectives. One was an interview with West after he was informed of his rights against self-incrimination and agreed to talk to detectives. The other interview was with his 14-year-old female victim who was with West when he was arrested Monday.
The Sheriff's Office investigation showed that suspect and victim had sexual intercourse in St. Lucie County. Also, one of the handguns West had when he was arrested was reported to the Harris County, Texas, Sheriff's Office to have been stolen.
West is being held at the St. Lucie County jail without bond as a fugitive from Texas, and on the St. Lucie County charges.
