St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara asks for public's help to identify a suspect in early morning, north-county shooting
An early-morning shooting just north of Fort Pierce sent a 34-year-old man to a local hospital, and St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara is asking for the public's help to identify his assailant.
"Deputies were dispatched just after 1:40 a.m. to the 2700 block of Kingsley Drive in the Sheraton Plaza neighborhood, where they found Jason Rainey of Kingsley Drive lying in the roadway," Sheriff Mascara said. "It appeared he had been shot three times."
The Sheriff said detectives were unable to learn from bystanders who had shot Rainey. He was taken by St. Lucie County Fire-Rescue ambulance to a local hospital.
"I am asking anyone with information to call 9-1-1 in St. Lucie County," Sheriff Mascara said. "If people want to report their tips anonymously and be eligible for a cash reward if the tip leads to an arrest, they can call Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-8477 (TIPS.)"
